Well, this has been quite the week. Praying for peace, and I hope you get some rest this Sunday.
Here’s a few things I consumed:
I’ve often wondered why most big software products end up becoming crap — this post on the “tyranny of the marginal user” tries to explain this dynamic for consumer software.
I watched this year old video of a product review between the CEO and Head of Design at the Browser Company. I love this. Imagine a whole set of annotated meetings like this?! Incredible.
I’m addicted to following the SBF trial. I can’t look away. Have you followed the story of Tiffany, a YouTube influencer and her interactions with SBF? She somehow became his best friend, and SBF is personally sending her information, like his old diaries…still! Her disclaimers that she is “just a girl” drive me nuts, but the bits in the video about SBF self-admitting he’s a sociopath are incredible.
Tech bro weddings be like…THIS.
I think this is a brilliant plan for the future of YC.
I found this take on exploring/expanding/contracting phases of companies from an old Shreyas tweet — what do you think?
Ugh I hate the idea of child influencers because it feels exploitative.
I liked this post about why Democrats should talk more about healthcare.
Think of office workers as tourists. Check them into a building that they can write home about, mix them with like-minded people and make them feel taken care of, and they’ll put up with the commute.
At least that’s the idea behind “work resorts,” or offices that are more like boutique hotels than glass-and-steel skyscrapers. Outdoor gardens, cosy seating areas, co-working spaces and more secluded desks — all with a sleek, hotel-like feel — offer something for every type of worker. Art galleries, restaurants and cafes on the ground floor transform the building into a destination for the wider community beyond office workers.
General Catalyst bought a healthcare system? I trust Nikhil’s takes, he seems to be bearish.
